Day 1: Shai Hills Reserve

Visit Shai Hills Reserve, a savannah grassland and woodland expanse for a bird-watching experience. Senegal Parrot, Swallow-tailed Bee-eater, Vieillot’s Barbet, Piapiac, and red-shouldered Cuckooshrike can be seen here. In the afternoon, travel to Sogakope for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Xavi Bird Sanctuary

Visit the Xavi Bird Sanctuary, a community-based eco-tourism project centered on birds that inhabit the area. See birds like Cinnamon Chested Bishop, Yellow- Crown Bishop, Senegal Fire- Finch, Splendid Sunbird, and Senegal Coucal. You may choose to go on a canoe ride on the Lotor River.

Day 3: Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary

Visit the Owabi Wildlife Sanctuary, the smallest Wildlife Protected area in Ghana. The Sanctuary is also the only inland Ramsar Site in Ghana. It is home to many butterflies, over 140 species of birds, monkeys, and the more reclusive bush pig, bushbuck, and antelope.

Day 4: Kakum National Park

Visit Kakum National Park, which has countless trees and medicinal and cultural properties. For the young at heart experience the “Canopy Walkway” suspended 100 feet from the forest ground for a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest.

Spend the most critical bird viewing hours 100 feet above the forest floor on the Canopy walkway, which platforms are large enough to support Telescopes. Visit the Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by the Portuguese in 1482. View its utterly distinct architecture.
