DAY 1:            ARRIVAL IN ACCRA, GHANA

Arrive at Accra airport. Met, assisted and transferred to your hotel (Hotel Check in is at 3pm).

DAY 2:            ACCRA CITY TOUR

This morning, you would go on a city tour of Accra, Ghana’s capital city, visiting Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, National Museum, uniquely designed casket shops and the Arts and crafts market.

DAY 3:            ACCRA - ELMINA

Morning at leisure. Depart Accra by mid morning for Elmina in the Central Region. Drive along the coast through several fishing villages and coconut lined beaches. Arrive in Elmina by mid afternoon and visit the Elmina Castle; which was built by the Portuguese in 1482, for a comprehensive guided tour. View its architecture and distinct features.

DAY 4:            ELMINA

Depart after breakfast to visit the Kakum National Park.  Go on a morning walk of the “Kuntan Trail” with its countless trees with medicinal properties. For the young at heart experience the “Canopy Walkway” suspended 100 feet from the forest ground for a panoramic view of the flora and fauna of the remaining vestiges of the rainforest. Visit a local palm oil processing plant. Learn at first hand the use of centuries old techniques to process palm nuts into palm oil. This would provide you with the unique opportunity of learning the various uses of the palm tree.

DAY 5:            ELMINA

Day at leisure. Spend the day relaxing on the beach.

DAY 6:            ELMINA - AXIM

Depart your hotel after breakfast for Beyin. Your first challenge is a visit by foot and by hand-paddled canoe to the village on stilts, Nzulezo. This village is built entirely on the Amansure Lake. Meet and interact with the villagers who live on this large lake. Observe village life and share experiences.

DAY 7:            AXIM

Day at leisure. Spend the day relaxing on the beach.

DAY 8:            AXIM - ACCRA

Morning at leisure. Depart Axim for Accra, Ghana’s capital city. Arrive and visit the Artists Alliance Gallery with over three floors of art, sculpture, carvings and artifacts is a gem of a gallery full to the brim with artistic expression. Shop for family and friends back home.

DAY 9:            ACCRA - DEPART

This morning is free for last minute shopping and packing. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
